STANDARD FLUE SYSTEM

Our Standard Flue System (SFS), also known as the default triple-skin flue, has been a trusted choice in Australian homes for decades. This system uses room air to keep the outer casings cool, ensuring safe passage through combustible ceilings and roofs.

SFS kits come standard with a fully stainless high-wind cowl,a durable black powder-coated finish, and seam-welded stainless sections for a precise round fit and seamless look.

Available with either a modern silhouette mesh finish or a solid outer casing, these flue kits are built to the highest quality standards while providing a sleek, stylish finish to your new fireplace.

For a seamless look above the roofline, we also offer a full powder-coated black option from spigot to cap, designed to blend effortlessly with tiled or Colorbond roofs.

Why Choose Us
  • Roof Support

    Roof Support

VisionLINE flue systems offer optional adjustable roof supports, designed to make pipe installation above the roof both simple and secure. These robust adjustable arms ensure stability, even in high winds, and meet the requirements for pipes that need to clear obstructions in compliance with AS/NZS 2918.

  • Warranty

    Warranty

VisionLINE flue systems are backed by a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from incorrect installation or misuse beyond product specifications.

  • Bushfire Attack Level

    Bushfire Attack Level

In certain Australian regions, Bushfire Attack Levels (BAL) assess the risk of bushfire impact. The construction risk varies based on the rating in your area, which may require specific building materials and methods. VisionLINE’s AFS+ and IFS flue systems are tested and rated to the highest BAL-FZ standard, in accordance with AS 1530.8.2 and AS 3959. This ensures that you can safely install a wood fireplace in a BAL-FZ zone while remaining fully compliant.

  • CE-Certified

    CE-Certified Ceramic Insulation

All VisionLINE insulated flue systems use a CEcertified ceramic insulation blanket. This ceramic fibre insulation delivers optimal performance for clearance and structural integrity, ensuring quality and safety. The blanket is tested to CE standards and can withstand temperatures above 1,750°C and 123 kg/m³ pressure, as per EN testing requirements. This allows for the minimum possible clearance with a 25mm insulated flue pipe.

  • Testing

    Testing

All VisionLINE flue systems undergo rigorous testing per Appendix F of AS/NZS 2918, covering the installation of venting pipes through the roof. Both IFS and AFS+ pipes also hold an opinion letter for Appendix B of AS/NZS 2918, which addresses appliance and pipe clearance within the room. Additionally, AFS+ is CE-EN-NO 1856 certified, which tests for tensile and compressive strength, wind load performance, aerodynamic stability under wind tunnel conditions, and gas tightness from unit to termination. This testing includes scenarios in enclosed environments, such as passive home envelopes. It’s the only flue system in Australia with this certification.

  • Powder-Coated Finish

All VisionLINE flue systems feature a strong and durable powder-coated finish. Powder coating not only adds a stylish touch to your flue system but also provides a protective layer for the outer flue, making it ideal for areas exposed to harsh environmental conditions, including seaside locations. Additionally, powder coating enables the outdoor installation of a black-finished pipe, unlike high-temperature wet paint, which is not designed for exterior use.

CERTIFIED FOR MODERN HOME DESIGN

Construction of homes and testing of flue kits is very different between Australia/New Zealand and Europe. In Australia we use what is called an open chase construction, which is an open cavity in walls and through the roof. Testing for flue systems in Australia via AS/NZS 2918 Appendix F simulates this with an open testing rig and high temperature gasses passing through the tested system.

EN testing assesses for closed envelope, or encased flue pipe. When you close off a cavity and box in the flue pipe, heat is trapped within the cavity causing it to pool and build — becoming extremely dangerous. AFS+ system is constructed and designed for this exact style of installation.

Being a Norwegian design, closed envelope is standard construction therefore the EN testing performed on the pipe allows passive home and high energy efficient installations.

AFS+ is the only flue system on the Australian and New Zealand market which holds this approval.

Safety Vent kits comprise of a basic configuration to suit Single Storey applications on most freestanding fireplaces.

Components such as the adjustable female stove pipe are available in three different sizes to suit different height ceilings and ensure the join line is centered between the heater and the transition to Safety Vent. The transition piece must be a minimum150mm from the ceiling and should be fitted to allow for the adjustable pipe to engage fully into the transition whilst still sealing to the male adjustable pipe.

Safety Vent kits with air include a 1mtr male adjustable T-section and adjustable snorkel to connect to the outside air intake onthe fireplace. Standard Safety Vent kits will be room sealed but will not provide outside air to the unit.

Extra Stove Pipe and Safety Vent lengths are available to extend the flue where necessary as well as 45 degree offsets and support brackets when required. Refer to the installation manual for detailed instructions.
