IFS – Enhanced Efficiency

The VisionLINE Insulated Flue System (IFS) replaces traditional air-cooled flue designs with high-quality Morgan Ceramic insulation, ensuring the outer skin remains cool while safely passing through combustible areas. By eliminating the need for ventilated skins, IFS prevents heat loss and retains valuable room air, enhancing energy efficiency. Designed for effortless installation, IFS features a unique twist-lock connection — the only joint on the market to achieve EN and CE certification for water ingress protection. This guarantees superior resistance against harsh Australian weather conditions, keeping water out even in extreme environments.

With a consistent pipe size (150mm active, 200mm outer) from the fireplace spigot to the cap, IFS simplifies installation while offering a fully powder-coated, high-temperature black finish. This sleek design provides a clean, modern look both inside your home and above the roofline while also offering enhanced durability against the elements. Constructed entirely from stainless steel, it is ideal for coastal areas with salt-laden air.

IFS significantly reduces wind noise — up to 95% compared to a Standard Flue System (SFS). Unlike traditional flue systems, it eliminates open air connections between the cowl and room, preventing rattling noises often found in older systems. Additionally, IFS is BAL-FZ (Bushfire Attack Level –Flame Zone) approved, the highest possible rating, ensuring maximum protection in bushfire-prone areas.

The flue system is tested according to Appendix B of AS/NZS2918:2018 on solid fuel appliances with maximum average heat outputs up to 15kw and a 6 inch active flue. Units up to 12kw (max average) can be installed observing the Appendix B clearances of the tested appliance using a default flue with a single 180o rear heat shield, Decro mesh or Solid decro. Units requiring a double heat shield will also require an additional shield to meet rear clearance requirements. Units above 12kw and below 15kw (max average) require an additional reflective stainless steel 900mm x 180o flue shield installed directly above the appliance to the ceiling. Tested appliances should have this information on the compliance plate on the rear of the heater or alternatively you can request this information from the appliance manufacturer.

Why Choose Us
  • Roof Support

    Roof Support

VisionLINE flue systems offer optional adjustable roof supports, designed to make pipe installation above the roof both simple and secure. These robust adjustable arms ensure stability, even in high winds, and meet the requirements for pipes that need to clear obstructions in compliance with AS/NZS 2918.

  • Warranty

    Warranty

VisionLINE flue systems are backed by a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from incorrect installation or misuse beyond product specifications.

  • Bushfire Attack Level

    Bushfire Attack Level

In certain Australian regions, Bushfire Attack Levels (BAL) assess the risk of bushfire impact. The construction risk varies based on the rating in your area, which may require specific building materials and methods. VisionLINE’s AFS+ and IFS flue systems are tested and rated to the highest BAL-FZ standard, in accordance with AS 1530.8.2 and AS 3959. This ensures that you can safely install a wood fireplace in a BAL-FZ zone while remaining fully compliant.

  • CE-Certified

    CE-Certified Ceramic Insulation

All VisionLINE insulated flue systems use a CEcertified ceramic insulation blanket. This ceramic fibre insulation delivers optimal performance for clearance and structural integrity, ensuring quality and safety. The blanket is tested to CE standards and can withstand temperatures above 1,750°C and 123 kg/m³ pressure, as per EN testing requirements. This allows for the minimum possible clearance with a 25mm insulated flue pipe.

  • Testing

    Testing

All VisionLINE flue systems undergo rigorous testing per Appendix F of AS/NZS 2918, covering the installation of venting pipes through the roof. Both IFS and AFS+ pipes also hold an opinion letter for Appendix B of AS/NZS 2918, which addresses appliance and pipe clearance within the room. Additionally, AFS+ is CE-EN-NO 1856 certified, which tests for tensile and compressive strength, wind load performance, aerodynamic stability under wind tunnel conditions, and gas tightness from unit to termination. This testing includes scenarios in enclosed environments, such as passive home envelopes. It’s the only flue system in Australia with this certification.

  • Powder-Coated Finish

All VisionLINE flue systems feature a strong and durable powder-coated finish. Powder coating not only adds a stylish touch to your flue system but also provides a protective layer for the outer flue, making it ideal for areas exposed to harsh environmental conditions, including seaside locations. Additionally, powder coating enables the outdoor installation of a black-finished pipe, unlike high-temperature wet paint, which is not designed for exterior use.
